duke vs. houston: a preview
FINAL FOUR, THE ALAMODOME – This final four is surprisingly all number 1 seeded teams. We have not seen this in years, as usually in March there is madness. This year we haven’t seen as much madness, a part from really #10 Arkansas beating #2 St. Johns. Other than that there has been very minimal shake ups in the bracket this year.
This Saturday, April 5th, at 8:49 pm EST, #1 Duke headed by Cooper Flagg, will face off against #1 Houston for a trip to the Championship.
Duke beat Alabama 85-65 last weekend in the Elite Eight in a commanding victory over the Crimson Tide. Alabama kept it close for a while, until the Blue Devils grabbed a heavy lead and never lost it. Duke has won 15 consecutive games, and are seeking their sixth national title. This will be their 18th final four appearance in program history.
Houston took down Tennessee in the Elite Eight this past Sunday, cruising to victory 69-50 over the Volunteers. The Cougars have won 17 games in a row, and are seeking their first national title.
Duke is a 5.5 point favorite for the game, while the over/under is 136.5. Cooper Flagg will be a big reason for Duke covering the spread, as he nearly scored a double-double versus Alabama. He had 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists.
We haven’t seen much madness this March, which is depressing to us fans. But you know what, the madness is just beginning. I think just about everyone in the world is expecting Cooper Flagg and Duke to take down Houston pretty handily, but in this game the Houston Cougars will go on to beat Duke 72-67. It will be a close one, but they will just manage to cover the spread. So if you are planning on betting I would one hundred percent SLAM the over for 136.5 right now! Both teams have high-powered offenses, and no matter the outcome of the game I do know one thing for almost certain. That would be that the total score will be OVER 136.5.
